As a way to equip and train mentors with essential skills, we developed a curriculum that offers practical tips rooted in scripture to guide individuals pursuing being a mentor or leaders developing a mentoring program within their church community.

Testimonials

  • Smiling person in a blue jacket.

Nicole Pond, Good Home Church, Cloquet

“We would not have been able to launch our discipleship/mentorship program as quickly as we have without the resources that The Water’s Church made so easily accessible to us! The forms were easy to use and change to fit our specific ministry goals. It is a tremendous blessing to be able to glean from the years of work that has went in to these resources and program.”

    Jess - Cornerstone Church

"So incredibly blessed by these resources! It felt like someone came alongside us, encouraging and pointing the way as we began structuring what our mentorship program would look like. A fantastic option for anyone looking to begin a mentorship program in their church and local community."

  • Woman with long blonde hair sitting on a vintage striped couch in front of a blue wall, wearing a light-colored t-shirt, black ripped jeans, bracelets, and a headband.

    Current Mentee

“The mentorship program at The Waters was more of a blessing in my life than I had ever hoped. Today, I am in a much better place emotionally and spiritually. God had a good plan in mind when He put my mentor in my life. I'm beyond grateful!”

With Complete Gratitude

There have been so many people I’m grateful for—from the initial dreaming up of  Becoming Her in 2015 to the launch of our new curriculum here. I want to extend a heartfelt thanks whether you offered support, feedback, or encouragement along the way; your contributions made a real difference.

I want to thank Doug & Peggy Vagle of The Waters Church for empowering me to develop Becoming Her Ministry and the journey it has become.

Thank you to my husband, Jeff, and our children for giving me love, space, and grace as I pursued this mission.

My Creative/Editing Team, you have put in SO many hours into this project with me. Thank you for being my Gideon Army.

Thank you, Beth Morris, for hearing God say "yes" to joining me in a project that turned out to be writing a curriculum—before we even fully realized it! It was truly a “God wink".

To the Waters Staff, thank you for your encouragement and for always being ready to assist whenever I needed you.

Thank you to those who coached and networked behind the scenes since the start of Becoming Her: Cathy Nimmo, Carol Lund, Michelle Pape, Becky Meyerson, Pamela Nelson, & Frieda Ruch. You sharpen me in so many ways.

I am forever grateful to Tami Jean Amundson. You had a heart after Jesus, and you were my first mentoring match. You impacted me in so many ways and served Jesus well. It was an honor to do life with you.

To Tonja and my sis, Angie, thank you for knowing me so well and for being just a phone call away.

My Mentors, Advisory Team, & Prayer Team, your feedback, support, prayer, and willingness to be a part of this project have meant so much to me. You even did videos for me!

Thanks to you, I never felt alone in this process. I’m truly grateful for the gifts, time, energy, and heart you brought to this project—and me.

This ministry and curriculum wouldn’t be what it is without you. Thank you for being part of it.

Lastly, to the Lord, who goes before me and leads me, pushes me out of my comfort zone, and is forever faithful in all things—You are the reason for it all.

With love to all and appreciation,
Abby
